01.About Backlog Coach
Backlog Coach is an independent web application that helps Steam users analyze their game libraries, track unplayed games, and discover what to play next. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Valve Corporation or Steam in any way.
All game data, covers, and library information are accessed through Steam's public API using data you authorize us to read.
02.Your Data & Privacy
We take your privacy seriously. Here's exactly what we do and don't do with your data:
- We only read your public Steam library data via the Steam API
- We do NOT store your Steam password or any login credentials
- We do NOT sell, share, or trade your personal data with third parties
- We do NOT access private Steam profiles or hidden libraries
- Game library data may be temporarily cached to improve performance
- You can disconnect your account and request data deletion at any time
03.Intellectual Property
Backlog Coach, including its name, logo, design, code, and all original content, is owned by its creator and protected under applicable intellectual property laws.
- The "Backlog Coach" name and brand are proprietary
- The website design, UI, and user experience concept are original work
- The idea, product concept, and features described on this site are the intellectual property of the creator
- You may not copy, reproduce, or build a competing product based on this concept without written permission
- Game covers and names displayed belong to their respective owners (Valve, game publishers)
04.Acceptable Use
You agree to use Backlog Coach only for lawful purposes. You must NOT:
- Attempt to scrape, copy, or extract the platform's code or design
- Use automated bots or tools to access the service at scale
- Attempt to reverse-engineer or clone the service
- Use the service to harm, harass, or abuse others
- Attempt to access other users' data without their consent
05.Steam API Usage
Backlog Coach uses the Steam Web API in compliance with Valve's API Terms of Use. By using our service, you authorize us to access your public Steam library data on your behalf.
We only access data that Steam marks as publicly available. We do not access friends lists, payment information, or private account details.
06.Disclaimer of Warranties
Backlog Coach is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee 100% accuracy of game data, prices, or playtime statistics. Game pricing data is estimated and may not reflect actual purchase prices.
We are not responsible for any decisions you make based on the information provided by this service, including but not limited to game purchases or refund requests.
07.Changes to the Service
We reserve the right to:
- Modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time
- Update these Terms of Service with reasonable notice
- Add or remove features without prior notice
- Introduce paid features or subscription plans in the future
Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
08.Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Backlog Coach and its creator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.
09.Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable international laws. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved through mutual agreement or appropriate legal channels.
